'Guten Tag!
I bet you didn’t know I was fluent in German. Okay, maybe I’m not fluent but I did have lessons in year 5 and I got flown out to Germany along with my best friend (and her class) to play Gongs; we were even featured in our local Newspaper. Proud moment.
Anyway, enough random facts about me. Yesterday two friends and I, along with our three children, visited Winter Wonderland and it’s safe to say we had a blast! We went to the German market for food (which was delicious), saw Santa and the elves, took the kids on a few rides and I even had time for a warm Apple and Cinnamon drink (if you haven’t tasted this I strongly recommend it. Thank me later).
On Wednesday’s we go to a Music and Movement class which finishes at 11:00 so we decided to go to Winter Wonderland straight after class. Personally, I’ve never been to Winter Wonderland early but the great thing was that it wasn’t packed-up and congested like it usually is at night. When we visited Santa’s grotto, there was no line; we walked straight in (usually it's an hour and a half wait). They take pictures inside that you can purchase but Mekhi wasn’t smiling in any of them so I gave that a miss. Santa gave them each a little ( or should I say tiny) gift but entry was free and Mekhi liked it so I can’t complain.
I really struggled to find food I liked as I don’t eat pork or red meat but for all the meat lovers, you can find something to eat on every corner. Just a heads up, all of the stalls we passed were cash only and none accepted card, silly me I forgot to take money out beforehand so I had to pay £2.95 to take cash out at the ATM. What a cheek!
We took the kids on a few rides and the girls weren’t phased at all but Mekhi couldn't contain his excitement. Half way through the last ride he started to moan and cry; bless him, but the show must go on! He was okay though, he came off, gave me a big hug and then tried to go again; I didn’t know if I should be proud of his determination or take that as a sign he doesn’t learn from his lessons lol, either way, they all had a very good day.
There are many things to do in Winter Wonderland for all ages. Check out their website and feel free to tell me about your day.
